Heavenly Bundle Slings are made with you and your baby in mind. The Heavenly Bundle Sling is a pouch- like, non-adjustable carrier that is worn over your body on one shoulder and rests on or above your opposite hip for comfort. With a wide selection of fabrics to choose from and your beautiful baby inside, your new sling truly becomes the most gorgeous accessory you will own!
Heavenly Bundles are comfortable, fashion forward, versatile and affordable. You will find that a pouch-like carrier is one of the simplest baby carriers to learn to use. It is wonderful for both parents. Dads find pouch-like carriers less intimidating and are more encouraged to give it a try because of these simple features.
Heavenly Bundle slings make life a bit easier: your hands are free, and you can enjoy doing what you always did with the comfort of having your baby close to your heart! You will not miss a beat: your child is always with you! How heavenly is that:
Heavenly Bundle comes in 8 sizes, so you feel like you are getting a custom fitted pouch. The pouch is measured from top to bottom of longest rail of sling (at the seam). For example, size 26 means that the sling measures 26 inches from top to bottom.
Each Heavenly Bundle is crafted with utmost care and can support the weight of a newborn to a 35lb toddler.
Each Heavenly Bundle sling is made with quality cotton prints and cotton solids
Washing instructions are easy: wash with cold water and air dry or you can tumble dry on low for about 10 min.
Some features include non-bulky leg padding/cushion in all slings for those cute little toddler legs in a hip carry, and the cushion is also great for smaller infants as a head cushion. Each sling has a toy loop.
Heavenly Bundles have a neat inner pocket with a flap so nothing falls out!
Heavenly Bundles have a tie at the seam that is used to neatly roll up your pouch when not in use. It rolls up compactly and rolling up your sling creates less wrinkles. Your baby sling can easily fit inside your purse.
Almost all Heavenly Bundle Slings are reversible.

Ten Myths About Childbirth

Ten Myths About Childbirth by Teresa Redmond

Here's the skinny on childbirth. You will hear all kinds of stories about childbirth. What's true and what is simply a myth. We have listed ten of the most common myths about childbirth.
1. My water will break if I am truly in labor.
Amniotic fluid surrounds your baby during pregnancy. If you are in your last weeks of pregnancy you may be expecting a gush of water prior to the onset of labor. For most women their water does not break before labor begins and often does not break until you are in active labor if it breaks on it's own at all. In fact, quite often your doctor or midwife will break the bag of waters at some point during labor.
2. You will know when you are in labor.
Early labor can last hours and even days. Braxton Hicks contractions can feel very real and be difficult to tell apart from true labor contractions. While most women will know once they have reached the active phase of labor, early labor can be more subtle. It is not uncommon for women to be dilated four or even five centimeters and not be aware of the fact that they are in labor. False labor contractions are irregular and usually do not increase in intensity, frequency, or duration. Moms who have given birth before may actually have a more difficult time distinguishing true labor contractions from false labor. The only way to be sure whether you are indeed in labor is to have a vaginal exam to check for cervical dilation.
3. Labor induction always works.
Labor induction does not always work. Your doctor will perform a vaginal exam to check for cervical dilation and effacement and position of your cervix. Labor induction works best when the cervix has already begun to soften and dilate. You may go in for your 39 or 40 week appointment hoping for an induction only to be told that your cervix is not favorable to be induced. It is also possible to have a failed induction. If baby is not in distress you may be sent home to try labor induction again in another day or two.
4. Contractions feel like menstrual cramps.
You may haveheard that contractions feel like menstrual cramps. While for some women early labor contractions may feel like menstrual cramps, this is not a very realistic description of labor contractions. Natural childbirth is definitely doable and many women have an unmedicated birth. However, we feel describing contractions as menstrual cramps is a disservice to first time moms. There are more honest and accurate descriptions of labor contractions that will better prepare you for childbirth.Contractions do resemble menstrual cramps in their location and general achiness, but they also have a powerful tightening more closely resembling a charlie horse. Generally speaking contractions in the active phase of labor will be tightening, painful, and increase in intensity until you reach the peak of the contraction and then the pain will begin to subside.
5. Unmedicated childbirth is always best.
Because labor is not one long sustained contraction but rather a series of contractions increasing in intensity, natural childbirth is quite possible. Natural childbirth, utilizing relaxation exercises, breathing, and resting between contractions, offer some option for pain management. Natural childbirth offers women the ability to be in complete control of their birth and there is a very empowered feeling after having a successful unmedicated birth. Benefits of an unmedicated birth include faster recovery time and shorter labor for mom, more alert and active baby (and mom too), and of course it's cheaper. However, there are occasions, where an unmedicated birth would not be best and certainly many reasons why women would prefer a medicated birth over an unmedicated one. Conditions such as an abrupted placenta, a baby in a breach position, or signs of fetal distress are all very good reasons to need a caesarian section. An unmedicated birth is ideal, but a happy, healthybirth can be attained regardless of your childbirth choice.
6. If you are really in labor you will not be sent home.
Women may assume if they are truly in labor that they will be admitted to the hospital. You can be in labor and still be sent home. If you are in the early phases of labor, you may be sent home until your contractions increase in frequency or your cervix is more dilated. Many hospitals will not admit you until you are at least four centimeters dilated. Do not get discouraged if the labor and delivery nurse tells you that you have to go home. You may indeed be in labor!
7. Once a caesarian birth always a caesarian birth.
This may or may not be true depending on the type of caesarian section you had along with the reasons for having a caesarian birth to begin with. VBACs or vaginal birth after caesarian arebecoming increasingly more common. You will need to discuss withyour doctor whether a VBAC will be possible for you.
8. Each labor gets easier.
This may or may not be true for you. Generally speaking, second labors are shorter induration, but that is not always the case. Shorter does not always mean easier. Baby could be bigger than your first or positioned differently. Also, if you have a very rapids labor, you may find you do not have as many choices for pain medication or you may simply choose different pain options. There are any number of factors that could affect your birth.
9. You will feel an urge to push.
Feeling the urge to push is instinctive and natural right? If baby is ready to come you will certainly feel an urge to push! Well, believe it or not this is not always true. Many women do feel an urge to push, but not always. Sometimes pushing is painful and women will avoid pushing at all costs. Other times medications such as an epidural will interfere with the sensation of needing to push.Your doctor or midwife will help you to understand what is happening during labor and help you determine when you are ready to push.
10. Epidurals lead to caesarian sections.
This belief isstill held by some, but recent studies have shown that epidurals do not cause an increase in caesarian sections.

A Personal Note - Celebrating Mother's Day

May 10, 2007 - This is me and Madeline celebrating Mother's Day at her school. The kindergarteners each completed a fill in the blank questionaire about their mothers including My mom is ___ years old. As you can imagine the ages were all over the place and very entertaining. Of course each questionaire was read out loud by the teacher and each mom had to guess if it was about them. Here is a list of Madeline's answers.

My mom is 32 years old.
My mom is very good at love. (Aww. Some moms were very good at laundry, cooking, washing the dishes etc. I like being good at love..not that there is anything wrong with the others.)
My mom and dad like to go out on dates.
My mom thinks I am very loving.

All of the children also sang a very cute song about their moms. After school I took her to eat at Lipuma's Coney Island where we sat outside and enjoyed each other, the beautiful weather and a couple of yummy coney dogs.
P.S. There was one mom there who had just had a baby on Monday..three days earlier! She gets the Mommy of the Year award!

May 11, 2007 - Me and Lily celebrating yeserday at her pre-school. We ate muffins, chatted with the other moms, and the children sang some very cute songs. Lily made me a handprint garden stone. I enjoy these special moments with my girls because I know that before too long they are going to get all grown up on me and the days of handmade gifts and darling songs about super-hero mommy will be behind us.

I wish all of you a very relaxing and memorable Mother's Day!

Ooh La La Mama - Coming Soon!

Ooh la la! You can say that again. I am so excited about this FABULOUS new line of baby one-pieces by Ooh La La Mama. I heard that this line launched this past February and there is no doubt in my mind that this fresh line of funky fashions for the crawling set is going to be a huge hit. I even got a little background on the line's designer, Cindy. You will never believe it but not only does she design these darling duds but she is also a mom to two little boys age 3 years old and 9 months old, but she is also an ER doctor! The woman is cleary full in the talent department. I will post more about her once we learn the full story (with her permission of course :)). Shown Left is the Ooh La La Mama Elizabeth Rose Onezie which is a personal favorite of mine for two reasons. Number one is the obvious..this baby girl onepiece is way too cute and reason number two is because my youngest daughter was once named Elizabeth Rose. I did end up legally changing her name shortly after I brought her home and now she is Lily Rose. Not because I don't like the name Elizabeth but because her personality was more Lily. Anyway, be sure to stop by and check out the other Ooh La La Mama styles!

Baby Sleep Problems Tips And Information

by Malcolm Moorhouse

Here are some tips to help you with your baby sleep problems. One way to deal with your child's sleep problems is to keep him calm during the day. Some people also some people suggest tiring the child out during the day so that he will sleep through the night. However, a baby will also need their parents to help and guide them through any problems that arise in the first few months after birth.

It's good to be aware that baby sleep problems can be caused by alot of other conditions and problems such as illness, blocked nose, soiled nappy, pain, hunger or thirst, environmental factors like noise and many other causes. Because your baby is not able to communicate verbally, you will have to be alert and on the ball, so that you can provide him with proper treatment straight away.

Baby's sleep patterns stages:

During the first three or four months after your pregnancy, a baby requires approximately 15 hours sleep in every 24 hrs. Baby sleep problems often happen during this period because your newborn will only stay asleep for about 4 hours at a time, which is normal. This means you should not expect to have uninterrupted sleep for the first 3 to 4 months and take this time to keep an eye on your baby in case of possible health problems.

Also be aware that baby sleep problems and uninterrupted sleep for parents may last for up to 6 months or more; however this can also vary from one baby to another. You can always help your child with sleep problems by having a bedtime routine that you and your baby follow from the beginning.

The resistance of the baby to actually go to sleep is probably one of the most common of baby sleep problems. Six to eight week old babies only sleep approximately 2 hrs at a time. So you need to see the signs that your child is ready to go to sleep. One sure sign your baby is getting sleepy is whent hey rub their eyes or twiddle their ears, so be sure to pay attention.

It is important to understand your baby's sleep patterns to get him to bed when they're sleepy. Once you have mastered this, you will know instinctively when to put him or her to beda nd therefore avoid any unnecessary bedtime issues. Alot of parents don't teach their baby about the difference between day and night. This is an important step in developing a proper bedtime routine that needs to be introduced as soon aspossible after the pregnancy.

Baby sleep problems should not trouble you or your baby once you have made it pass the first 6 months. By teaching him about a regular bedtime and understanding his or her sleep patterns, you have helped to remove your child's sleep problems, so they should sleep well every night.

Baby's New Clothes

Baby's New Clothes - A Baby Shower Activity to Fill Baby's Dresser
by Christina Cermak

Baby Shower games and activities are great ways for guests to interact with each other, have fun and fill up time. Instead of the same baby shower bingo or don't say baby game why not tap into your guests creativity. Your guests can decorate onesies for baby. This is a creative way to get baby's wardrobe off to a good start. This activity is great for a shower for twins, triplets or quadruplets.

You will need the following supplies for this activity: solid color onesies in a variety of sizes and fabric markers. There are two ways for guests to participate in this activity. You can simply hand out the onesies at the guest tables and have the fabric markers for guests to share. An alternative is to have a table dedicated to decorating and guests can take turns decorating the onesies.

If you do not purchase extras in case of errors make sure your guests know. They can easily turn an attempt at a truck into a geometric design. Designs do not need to be complicated. A simple flower or construction hat is a great design for a onesie. If you have a large number of guests you may want to purchase extra fabric markers - two sets per table should be enough for parties of 30 or more.

Don't just limit yourself to white onesies. Purchase an assortment of infant clothing for guests to decorate. You can supply guests with white or pastel colored bibs, infant gowns,or lap shirts. Don't forget to include mommy to be in this activity. She can create a special outfit for her little one(s).

About the author: Christina Cermak is owner of Baby Shower Depot. Baby Shower Depot offers affordable baby shower favors, baby shower games, baby gifts, baby gift baskets, baby diaper cakes, and amonthly newsletter.

Best Shopping Carts EVER!

Never in my life did I ever think that I could feel so excited about a shopping cart. This afternoon I had to make a stop at Meijer with both kids in tow in the pouring rain. I normally don't attempt this sort of thing but my folks were arriving home from Florida this evening and I wanted to treat them to a home-cooked meal. Once inside the Meijer store I decided to try out the new TV Kart. The TV Kart is the most popular television-equipped, mini-car/grocery cart in New Zealand, and it is slowly making its way into stores in the US. Two kids can sit in seat-belted comfort and safety. The Karts come equipped with on board computers and an LCD screen down below, where, for a dollar, parents can let the kids watch Barney, Bob the Builder, or The Wiggles while they shop. The side doors even lock for added safety. I paid my dollar, set both children in the cart and while I shopped I almost forgot they were even down there. The only glitch is that they are a little tough to maneuver, but not enough to make it a real problem. Stores don't even have to pay for the Karts, the maker, Cabco, will provide, maintain, and upgrade them for free in exchange for all the dollas made with them. So, it's a winning situation all around. If your local grocer does not have these already I would put a word in. It will change your grocery shopping experience forever.
